Firstly, our English and Maths Tutors are qualified teachers with no exceptions.
We teach English and Maths to primary, secondary, and adult learners every day, in schools and online.
Every student is different, which is why we offer a range of teaching, learning and feedback methods to support positive academic and personal development.
Our tutors are highly experienced in teaching learners with SEND requirements, anxiety and low self-esteem and those not currently in education.

The development of our learners, both academically and personally, is at the forefront of what we do.
Supporting children’s positive mental health and self-esteem is of paramount importance to us.
Our learners are asked to provide a ‘win for the week’ to celebrate each lesson, along with a ‘challenge of the week’ which we break down and provide tips to tackle the next time they are faced with a similar challenge.
We praise our learners regularly for their engagement and send updates home to encourage the same here.
All of our teachers are qualified, subject and examination board specialists.
We work with our learners, parents/carers and school (if desired) to support every interaction with education and encourage their confidence.
We work alongside school curriculum plans to ensure that learning is transferable and progress is swift.
Your teacher will be there for you throughout the week, between your lessons to answer questions and provide guidance and support with school and homework.
FAQs
It is! We use a super interactive teaching platform to deliver our lessons (not Skype or Teams which are designed for delivering meetings). This software allows us to take instant photographs of our learners’ written work and mark them on screen immediately.
We can also download entire lesson tasks, notes and responses for learners to use after the lesson to support them with their homework. The interactive teaching tools such as maths grid, graph, block, shape and formula functions make collaborating on questions an absolute breeze.
Learners with additional learning needs can be supported with a range of tools including multiple tabs (so that we can differentiate activities) coloured overlays and backgrounds (to support learners who favour particular presentation views).
We can also record lessons for playback to aid revision. Our learners have achieved wonderful results and our reviews speak for themselves.
We establish as much as possible about our learners before matching them with one of our tutors/services including an onboarding call with parents/carers (and learners too if they can) and providing a ‘Getting to Know You’ questionnaire which we ask learners to complete to give us their insights around how they like to be taught, their hobbies and the teaching methods they prefer.
We also review their recent school/homework to ensure we get the perfect fit.
Education is a team sport. From the first interaction with us you are a member of our team and whether or not you decide to come on board with us, we will always be there to help and support learners and their families.
Our tutors are all qualified teachers, who understand how to structure learning to meet the needs of each learner, how to question effectively, and how to design follow-up activities to ensure that new learning is embedded. We provide a tailored and personalised approach to learning, where clear goals and expectations are set and worked towards and achieved.
We value academic improvement hugely, but we also value the personal development of our students. This means we listen to their reflections upon their previous week, provide strategies for them to overcome future challenges and praise their achievements inside and outside of academic learning.
Their positive mental health and self-esteem is of utmost importance to us as this provides the true foundation for successful learning.
We use an online classroom to set homework and communicate with our learners in between lessons. We actively encourage parents/carers and learners themselves to reach out to us in between their lessons for advice and support. We are here to help with parents’ evening advice, breaking down jargon in school reports, communicating with schoolteachers, homework support and everything in between.
Our tutors are all qualified teachers and deserve to be paid as such for their expertise.
Each 55–60 minute lesson requires a minimum of 60 minutes additional work for each tutor (on average 90 minutes) including planning, setting and marking homework, marking additional tasks and providing support between lessons.
We pay monthly subscriptions for our teaching platform, timetabling software, teacher accreditation, administrative support and insurances to ensure that our learners, families, tutors are well looked after and that their data are kept safe.
Yes, all of our tutors have studied primary or secondary teaching at university, achieved their teaching qualification and have taught in schools for a minimum of two years. Our tutors all have valid police checks and have conducted safeguarding training.

Firstly, we collaborate with our parents/carers and learners to identify the absolute best tutor match for them from our team, taking into consideration their teaching style and approach and listening to our parents/carers when they tell us the methods their children respond to best. We take time to get to know our learners and have a genuine interest in them and their development. We celebrate every win, both personal and academic and build relationships without pressure. We do not expect that learners have their cameras on for their lessons and if they are anxious about speaking over the microphone initially, we can use the chat function and tons of emojis, symbols and reactions to communicate instead.
In our group lessons, learners can send messages directly to the tutor or the whole group through the chat; they can respond nonverbally with emojis and reactions and have access to their own tab to work on which the teacher can see, but other learners cannot. We use positive self-statements with our learners to encourage them to think a little more confidently about themselves and any learning challenges they come up against.
We work with learners’ school curriculum plans where possible to mirror the content being taught in school in our lessons, to help reduce anxiety and ensure that we are tackling current challenges for our learners.
Most importantly, we ask learners to try our tuition service for one week and if they decide it is not for them, there is no charge.
Our teaching platform allows you to re-enter at any point during the term and revisit what has been studied. Parents also have access to their child’s online classroom where they can view comments/homework set. We use national curriculum guidelines and assessment outcomes to inform our teaching and help our learners to reach and surpass educational milestones. Where possible, we mirror taught content in our learners’ school classrooms.
No, we may use commonly available practice papers/assessments and educational materials to support our learners on occasion, but we do not follow a generic scheme of learning for all of our learners based upon their year group; each students’ learning experience and materials are tailored just for them.
The first lesson payment is made before the first lesson takes place. Once learners have decided that they would like to continue, the remainder of the month is paid for in full. Future lesson payments are made in advance.
Should parents/carers/learners decide that they do not wish to continue with us, their first lesson payment is returned, no questions asked.
Absolutely, we have a team of tutors who have years of experience teaching learners with a range of additional needs. We assess learner suitability for online tuition on a case-by-case basis depending upon the severity of need, however, we will always find a way to support the vast majority of learners, help them capture a love for learning and boost their progress. We are also available to signpost parents/carers to additional support services should they require.
We do absolutely everything in our power to help our learners achieve their target grades in examinations and prepare them to face any exam-based scenario. We can control the teaching and learning that takes place in our lessons, support between lessons as much as possible and give advice. We cannot however control the outcome of examinations and are unable to provide guarantees. Examination boundaries fluctuate year upon year and question style/exam conditions can also vary. But, if a learner does not achieve what they were expecting, we are here to support them, from appealing exam marks to aiding with resits and supporting with next steps.
