Our teachers offer unlimited support between lessons.

We use an interactive teaching platform designed to deliver lessons, not meetings!

Girl-Studying

We are mentors

We provide strategies to tackle obstacles outside of our lessons.

We guide our learners through their assessment and examination cycles.
Girl-Studying-Online-with-Headphones

We are cheerleaders

We celebrate learners’ weekly successes both academic and personal.

We are positive and supportive, reminding learners that when they struggle with a concept they are just not confident with, they soon will be!

The development of our learners, both academically and personally, is at the forefront of what we do.

Supporting children’s positive mental health and self-esteem is at the forefront of our motivation.

To improve this, learners are asked to provide a ‘win for the week’ to celebrate each lesson, along with a ‘challenge of the week’ which we break down and provide tips to tackle the next time they are faced a similar challenge.

We praise our learners regularly for their engagement and send updates home to encourage the same here.

All of our teachers are qualified, subject and examination board specialists.

We work with our learners, parents/carers and school (if desired) to support every contact they make with education and encourage their confidence.

We work alongside school curriculum plans to ensure that learning is transferable and progress is swift.

Your teacher is there for you throughout the week, between your lessons to answer questions and provide guidance and support with school and homework.

I always try to make my teaching interactive and practical, so my students are involved as much as possible! I do this by embedding games, investigations and personal reflection activities into lessons. I always want to be as open and flexible to my students’ needs as possible and so, if a student identifies a topic they are struggling with, we tackle it head-on.

I also have a degree in Fine Art so I always enjoy students getting creative. I speak German and can play the guitar! In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and friends, being outside, creating artwork and travelling.

I am a qualified primary teacher and love providing tuition to students outside of my school teaching time. I have Mastery Maths training and was the maths lead at my previous school.

I also love English and the creativity it can give children. I especially love using diverse texts in my lessons to support students’ reading, writing and vocabulary development and broaden their literary knowledge. I am currently the Art and DT lead at my school and enjoy preparing lessons which allow children to use different materials and utilise their imaginations.

In my spare time,  I enjoy going to the gym, eating out and travelling. I like to take every opportunity I can to explore new cultures and bring this to the classroom. I have a fun teaching style and really thrive on children smiling and having fun while learning. I motivate children to be creative in their learning while still maintaining high expectations.

Sukhpreet Kaur

Sukhpreet

Maths (KS3, GCSE, AS Level, A Level).

I like one-to-one lessons as that way I can target a particular student's weakness in Maths systematically, leading them to the grades they are capable of achieving. I introduce challenge very systematically at each step, making every subsequent question harder than the previous one, until they get to the point when they feel confident in the topic.

I have been awarded achievement award for three subsequent years in my school in recognition of my work in improving my student's grade for up to 2.3 an average in a year. I am an examiner for two of the exam boards.

I like reading books, dancing, listening to music, travelling, playing badminton etc.

Natasha Convery

Natasha

I specialise in KS4 GCSE both Language and Literature, particularly Macbeth and An Inspector Calls.

I graduated with a First Class honours in English in 2015 before accomplishing my Masters in Contemporary English Literature in 2017. In 2020 I completed my PGCE in English and have been teaching English Literature and Language at secondary level for 5 years at an all boys leading grammar school.

As a teacher I find questioning and modelling to be the most effective methods of teaching. I work with students to develop their understanding and ability when unlocking and analysing a text using scaffolding tasks until they are confident enough to complete this independently; I use questioning to develop students thinking to achieve deeper meanings when considering writers intentions whilst annotating texts with students and exploding quotations before modelling paragraphs and writing responses together. I use recall to embed previously learnt information and to indicate to students what areas they need to focus their revision on whilst linking their learning and revision through further questioning.

I enjoy scenic walks and socialising with friends and family. I love learning about history and visiting historical sites and marvelling at archaic architecture.

Sarah Green

With over 12 years of experience as a fully qualified QTS teacher, I am passionate about making learning engaging and fun for children. I specialise in using interactive online activities to captivate young minds and help them reach their full potential.

My approach is tailored to each child's unique learning style, ensuring that they not only understand the material but also enjoy the learning process. Whether it's through creative problem-solving or dynamic storytelling, I aim to inspire and motivate students to achieve their academic goals. I tutor children online, from Key Stage One to Key Stage Three, including learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

I believe creating a supportive learning environment is key to helping children thrive and develop a love of learning. I emphasise building confidence and resilience, encouraging children to take risks and explore new ideas.

I am a mum to three children, I love to bake, garden and go hiking in my free time.

Cecille Edgar

Cecille

I am an experienced secondary English teacher and home educator. Over the past 25 years, I have had the privilege to work with thousands of young people, helping them to develop essential English skills and, hopefully, a love of English language and literature.

I have a lot of experience in helping students to achieve highly in examinations and I am really proud of my past students’ successes. As a tutor, it is a pleasure to work more closely with my students and really personalise their learning to them as individuals.

My favourite things in life (apart from my family of course) are probably tea, cake and books, not necessarily in that order. I love walking in the countryside, especially the peak district which is right on my doorstep, particularly if it culminates in a tea room. I like to go to the theatre when I get the chance.
